Coltra planting in June

Hi, this is My 1st post,
My friendly neighbouring farmer gave me some chitted Coltra potatoes.
I have planted them today 22nd June,
What are the chances of spuds later in the year?
I have got Queens, rooster, records and Maris piper planted on 1st March, and have started eating for the past 3 weeks.

I've not heard of Coltra before, do you know if they're earlies, salad, or main crop?

If they're maincrop it /may/ be a bit late.. but it depends where you are based. It'd be good if you could update your profile with your location so we'd not have to ask you and can tailor advice to your area..

That said, I started some salad and 2nd earliers (if I remember correctly) off in planter sacks in August - moved them into the greenhouse when the temp dropped in late september I believe.. and I had fresh spuds on xmas day

The issue is, the later it gets the less chance they have to size up, and there's the risk of blight.... and then obviously the cooler weather (he says.. have you seen the sun lately? ).

Hello EJ and welcome to the Vine. As Chris says, you need to know what type of crop the potatoes are, I've never heard of it either and of course whereabouts you are so we have an idea weather wise. Of course if the farmer who gave you the chitted potatoes is planting them now, I suppose that's a pretty good indication that you can.
