Quite simply, not enough! Pressures of working 6 days and 2 nights a week, along with a young family, a house that needs a lot of work, organising the local horticultural show as well as being secretary of the local gardening club means my time is fairly restricted.
However, when I do get the chance to spend some time there, I work like a man possessed by some green fingered (or dirty fingernailed) demon.Rat

A lot depends on the time of year and the weather. On average i would say 3 hours twice a week, but more in hot weather when i am down at dawn watering.

As Florence says, mine is in my garden so probably an hour a day or so, more at the weekends. When I had an allotment I spent alot more time there, but not alot more working lol. Alot of chatting to fellow plotholders or just sitting around admiring

I used to go every day, but this last year I've lost the will. The drought came at the worst possible time, just as all the seedlings went in. Those plants that survived the heat were then picked to death by thirsty pigeons & sparrows.
I've sown again where possible, but I'm still harvesting very little, therefore there's not much to do up there. I can't keep on watering every day, our soil is like sand and doesn't hold onto it: it's a waste of time.
We've just now had a couple of days of rain (first since end of March really) so the weeds will all be up ! I'll do probably 6 hrs weeding this week, in return for a handful of peas *sighAll gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
