The lids can be prised off for re-filling with a flat-bladed screwdriver without damage. The advantages are it is far quicker than mixing in a watering can and the dilution rate is self regulating.

So I assume the feed is slowly fed into the water as it comes out and the bottle slowly empties of solution right?.

It isn't like the other miracle grow (blue) powder stuff where it dilutes with water as it you water and it slowly gets weaker.

        Hi all,

This is an interesting thread. I have just bought my mum one of these Miracle-Gro LiquaFeed hose feeders, and wondered if you could re-fill the bottles rather than keep buying new bottles.

Does anyone know if this is possible? I asked a friend who has bought one, and she said it is not.

The other alternative is to drill a hole into the bottle to be able to refill and somehow plug this hole up when using it. I'll leave this to my partner as he is very good with working out things like this!!!

        Any comments would be useful.

Fertiliser run-off pollutes groundwater and thus runs off into other watercourses.
Some information here: Fertilizer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and a Google will find you more information.

Poor use of fertilizer in an industrial situation can cause problems.

But I don't think you can compare that to the use of Miracle Grow for domestic purposes.

That depends what your garden/plot sits above. On one side of my plot, I have a drainage ditch which drains into a local beck. Underneath my plot I have an underground aquifer. Surely if there is any chance of run-off affecting the environment it's better to avoid it?

Sarz I agree with your principle. However the biggest cause of domestic pollution is poor plumbing practice would you believe.

Since the 1940s or there abouts our drainage system as been installed in two parts, top and foul water.

Foul water is obvious toilets, sinks, washing machines and so on should all run into the foul water system and thence to the treatment plant.

Top water is the road drains, your rain water pipes and so on. This is conducted to the nearest water course.

Pretend plumbers and DIYers who are not aware or do not care about the above often plumb sinks and washing machines etc into the nearest gully which is almost always for top water. This is now causing such a problem that some water companies are setting up special tracking teams to identify the offenders.

All I do is use a butter knife to pop the top off and refill with wilko own brand, seems to be doing fine and my leafy plants are massive this year!
