  • How very strange....

One of my bored bean plants has had all of its leaves eaten . The stem is still there and so was a full pod but not a leaf in sight. The other plants next to it haven't been touched

As you said, how very strange. Whereabouts are they growing (e.g. containers, your garden, or on an allotment)?

Probably no chance of this- but you never know!!!!

A couple of years ago we had exactly the same thing on our French climbing beans and we kept looking to see what it was. Several plants later we found the culprit in the evening munching away to it's hearts content.....looked like a locust!!!!

Almost 3" long. On it's own.
Nothing last year- then we found another one - on it's own this year.( Chook food instantly.)

Never seen another one and our neighbours look at us as if we've had a few too many (- bottles that is ) when we ask them what it was.

Maybe blown over from Africa on these hot high altitude winds??? Maybe it's a European grasshopper heading ooop North???...who knows but flipping heck , it didn't half much through the bean leaves at a cracking rate.!

(Just a thought for something different to look out for!)
