I'm so sorry to be one of those people who just drops in when they need something! I've been busy not being one of those people in 'real life'!

So here's the issue; I just went into the garden and found I'd left my box of seeds out. For 4 days. In the rain. And the sun.
    Here's the question; now what?!!!!
In the box were about 30 packets of seeds of various veg variety and flowers too. these were seeds I was going to save for next year except the salad crops which was the reason I'd taken them out there!

    I'm soooooooooooooooooooo cross at myself

Oh dear! I'd be devastated if I left my seeds out PP.
I suspect that any open packs may be lost (you could always sow anything you can immediately so that you don't completely lose out). Anything in a sealed foil pack might be okay. I'd dry the packs out thoroughly indoors (not on a heatsource though), and maybe try sowing a pinch of each onto some damp tissue paper to see if anything still germinates. You might need to do this next year too to see if they are still viable.

Any particular seeds you were really keen on? I may have some of the same type.

Well I've just done a clear out, some are in the swaps forum, but I'll have a root through the box tomorrow to see what I've got.

I did the same before (a whole back of parsnips germinated IN the packet ), was gutted. Most of them started to rot too, as I'd left them out for 3 weeks - couldn't find them anywhere. Luckily I had a voucher for a local garden centre, so popped along and replaced most of what I had.

oh poor poddington, I feel for you. I am so (over)attached to my seed box, I think I'd cry. I haven't mastered the seed swap thing at all yet but I have lots of seeds, due to my addiction to buying them online argh, and would happily send you some pinches if that would cheer you up...let me know?

I did a similar thing myself. I have a shelf in the greenhouse with pepper plants positioned on it. After watering the peppers the water ran out of the pots along the shelf to the lowest point............which was directly over my box of seed packets!

Luckily the majority were of the 'foil packeted' variety and all was not lost. Hope you manage to salvage some PP.

I did that with some parsely [but then i put it under earth and now have a parsely patch which was muvh easier than doing it the normal way ] and I've done it again with a brand new packet of spinach, radish and kale...
you are not alone in your stupidity, I have enough to spare too

Any unopened foil pack will be OK, watch for anything else sprouting and sow them at least you will get something. anything you then get way too many of could either be swapped or go on the compost at least getting something back. Hope this helps

See, we've all done it - we just didn't 'fess up to the world at the time! Many come in foil packs now and they should survive. It teaches you to check where your seeds are at all times though!
