So I was pulling off brassica leaves - kale and PSB - with vile leaf miner tunnels in them, didn't want to put them in the compost because the little b******s might pupate in there anyway, sulking because burning seems like such a waste... and had the brilliant idea of giving them to my neighbour's chickens. Chickens see a leaf miner as a bit more protein, right? And then I found a lovely big fat juicy slug to add to the heap, and some of the edible weeds that the guinea pigs used to love, and now my neighbour's given me a bucket of chicken poo in exchange. How cool is that?! It's got plenty of straw in as browns for the compost and everything!
