  • Tomatillo pest!

    Tomatillo's are supposedly 'pest free'...HA!!!!

From a small plant, leaves gradually form bumps underneath, pale green. these bumps grow bigger then holes appear in the leaves. leaf then goes yellow. No visible pest can be seen.

Any idea what it is? Nearest thing I can find is some microscopic pest that does the same to pear trees.

Also - its pollinating partner just refuses to flower - maybe because of the pest? tho, once i'd picked off all affected leaves the first plant has thrived - covered in flowers, that bloom and then drop off presumably as they have nothing to be pollinated by.

Take it paintbrush method won't work here? Anything I can do to encourage other two plants to flower?

Sounds like oedema (though never had it on my tomatillos as of yet, I'm sure I will at some point though! ), some more info linked here - http://www.*************.co.uk/forum...php?f=9&t=8644.

I do get that on my chillies from time to time, though not severe enough to cause more than leaf deformation on occasion.

Sounds like they're a wee bit stressed, will keep fingers crossed that the other plants start flowering for you soon!
