De Cayenne Chilli Pepper Stems turning black

I'm growing some De cayenne chilli peppers for the first time this year and have noticed that now the chillies are starting to form that the stems are going black,

Can anyone advice on why this is?

Looks normal to me, assume they're still nice and firm etc? Quite a few of mine do this and I think it's part of the general maturing of the plant. I get good crops so am not worried.

I agree, I think it's just the natural process. Hope so, mine are like that!

yup, perfectly normal......and later on you may get black streaks on the fruit as they change from green to red/orange, also normal

Mine too. I think that's just what they do.

Same here, we can't ALL have the same problem at the same time so I'd assume it's normal =)

First year growing cayennes and I've also got similar black streaks on the stem joints and on some peppers as they change. I've started harvesting a couple of the chillies once they turned red and they've been fine.

yup, don't worry about it. this happens in many varieties of chilli!

They just do. I love Cayenne and grow them most years.
