I planted some Asparagus seeds a few months ago. Nothing appeared to be happening with them and I was going to trash them and buy crowns when they were available but nearly all of the 30 seeds I planted in individual pots has now thrown up a thin green shoot with a frond like top.
The seed packet said to just put them in individual pots but a book I read stated to soak overnight and plant in late winter. Any advice which is best?
I'm a little stuck as to what to do now. They're in 3inch pots at the moment. When should I plant them out? Do they like a sunny or shady place? Am I right in thinking that the roots in the pot now will form the crown that will give me the Asparagus?
Cheer!
