Another question related to seed-saving of peas...

Lots of my plants seem to be affected this year with whatever causes the flower/pod-formation to go a bit weird and the pod ends up with brown kinda twisted bits where it looks like the flower is stuck to it. What causes that to happen, and is it something which will be carried in the seed to affect the next lot of plants?

me neither ... I thought Sarz meant the remains of the flower stick to the end of the pod, but maybe not

Yes me too which would be the norm. Had a look in my reference books but not sure what I am looking for. Who is the pea expert?!

OK Sarzwix, does this sound like your problem?
PEA THRIPS - pods and foliage may discolour and develop brown scars or silver mottling. Pods may be misshapen and each contain only one or two peas.

If not, you got me stumped :-)
