I put a row of Autumn King in. Did this last year and they grew slowly over winter under some fleece.

Could put some spring greens in too.

Sow spring cabbage, lettuce, radish, carrot, turnip, onion (overwintering), salad leaves and spring onions. Plant winter Cauli, kale, PSB.

Plant leeks (thety seem impervious to any pests, including rabbits, pigeons and deer!)

Cutworm, onion fly and thrips; mildew, leek rust and neck rot - aren't we cheerful?! My leeks were good last year (touching wood) but neighbour's plot had major problems and lost 90% of them.

I planted 'Early Purple' and "White Sicilian' last autumn and have had an excellent crop this year. Even after all the snow.

Plant time - lots and lots of time. You'll run out of it before you know it, and wish you'd made more earlier in the year.
