Lost in translation: punjabi-English help required
As a child, we use to play in the backyard and nibble on the mungre that granny had sown. Never knew what they were at the time, loved the firey peppery taste. It came to me yesterday that they might be worth a shot. One has a veggie patch, so why not. Had to g***gle to find out what they are.
I second what rusty lady says. I still don't know. As it stands, I have sown mustard seeds as sarson da saag translates as mustard leaves. As a green manure it's doing all right at the moment. However, Ma wants it to get bigger so she can turn it into saag. If it fails to grow, it's being dug in!
