Wilted cuttings. Will they still take root?

Afternoon all.

In the middle of July I took some privet (so I'm told) hedge cuttings. I put them in plastic bags to create a green house. I took a 3 week holiday during August and on my return noticed that some of them have wilted. I gave them a good watering, not over the top though.

My question is, will they still take root?

IMO you should have taken more leaves off I would have just left two on the end, I took some hydrangea cuttings left two leaves and they have produced another couple of small leaves so I am hopeful they have struck properly.

Yes, I agree Paul.

I must add that I took about 280 cuttings and with most of them I did leave just 2 pairs of leaves but I thought I'd experiment with a few longer cuttings just to see how they did.

Not really too sure why I chose those plants to take a pic of. Maybe it's because they were looking the most wilted.

I did the same last year and had very successful plants but I didn't go on holiday for quite so long.
