I've got Swede, celeriac, parsnips, kale, red cabbage and brussels. Will get some onion and garlic.

The slugs ate my leek seedlings so am minus any leeks. I guess I'm up the creek on this or does anyone have any suggestions?

Does your local garden centre have any plug plants left?

I have my garlic from the Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight - I am planning on nearly a whole bed of them!!
Just waiting for my spuds to be ready (they were late going in)
My Manchester market turnip seeds are sown, along with perpetual spinach, and chard. I have broadies and peas to plant next, some winter lettuce seeds sown too. I wanted to try a carrot experiment, but have so far not been able to get any Nantes seeds, also planning on taking some gooseberry cuttings. The only thing I think I have forgotten is leeks (double )

We were so busy with a building project this summer I totally forget to start of any winter veg so the only thing I have in are leeks (thanks to my Dad donating some plants), PSB and the perpetual spinach which is still going strong. I've just picked up some meteor peas from the allotment shop so will give them a go under glass and maybe some on the windowsill for pea shoots. Garlic will be in the shop before end of September so will definitely be planting triple last years amount as we get through a lot at home. Japanese onions did well last year too so will try to get some of them in in the next couple of weeks. I'm gutted I forgot to plant swede as scotch broth's not right without it!

Going to see what's at the garden centre this weekend. On my list are Senshyu, Red cross, Electric and Radar, recommended by grapes in another post. I'll also need some garlic. Early Purple did well , so I grow these again as did the Sicilian White, I'm sure that's what there were, but I can't find them on tinnternet , any suggestions most wellcom.

I already have spring cabbage planted, both outside and in the poly. My Brussles, from spring sowwing, are coming along nicely. Broan bean and hardy peas are waiting for the spuds to come out.

Got some white uns today. I got about 100 for 84 p - they were £2.60 per kilo - bargain. Annoyingly they don't do red uns - the blokey said they wouldn't get them until spring - in a way that said you can't get red ones for autumn planting.

They didn't when I was in last but maybe I need to try a couple more.
