  • GYO Twitter Message on Frost Warning - MetOffice

Had a retweet from GYOMag on Met Office Frost Watch. I have had a look for this area - East Midlands and cannot see a problem, but Met Office have mentioned Scotland.

That's not going to encourage my aubergines and chilis to produce the late crop I'm hoping for...

Mine (chillies) are shivering in the wind as we speak since the placcie greenhouse deserted them. No frost around here yet but I'll be bringing them in to ripen in next few days.

Himself saw that there is going to be ground frost. Don't know where he got it from or for which area, but I told him to shut up.

Just looked at Met Office website, minimum overnight temperature for SW Scotland, Lothian and Borders is 3C, so possibly a touch of ground frost here.

I was on holiday in Fort William in Sept a few years ago, got up one morning to snow on the Ben.

                We had 5C last night!!!

I know I'm getting a bit fed up of my courgette/marrows- but...I really would prefer to have at least a couple more weeks in which to moan!

I'm not a big fan of the met office, in fact I tend to almost believe the exact opposite of whatever they say nowadays. Autumn is certainly blowing in fast though and even the met has to be right sometimes
