But I do object to paying hundreds of pounds a year in extra tax so that wind farms become economical for the companies that build and operate them.
I'm with you on that one, I think the current setup is disgraceful. Really is the worst of all possible worlds from the point of view of the customer. But don't forget - the companies that run normal power stations (most of whom are the same, i.e. EDF, Centrica et al) have been getting subsidies for doing so for donkey's years.
Alas, I think the standard way of doing things now is such, that the lobbyists have convinced government that without some form of bribery, no power utility will so much as lift a pen to sign a paycheque, never mind build infrastructure to invest in the future.

    Hey Wayne - Excellent !!

Blooming chilly here tonight, must wax my skis...

There is no appeal against the laws of physics. Ask any biker taking a bend too fast, or any Greenlander Inuit caught up in the Tea Party's "cooling trend".

But having felt how rapidly it warmed up today, I'm not waxing my skis for this weekend.

Temperature has dropped significantly here - t'was 29 degrees only 4-5 days ago.

Just walked up to the shops with a colleague who gave me a fleece to wear as he said it was chilli out. I think I'm part Northern as I don't feel the cold. Almost had a bit of a dab on when I got back to my desk.
