  • Brussel Sprout seedlings are dying and i dont know why HELP?

I decided to grow brussel sprouts this year and got my seeds under way in root trainers in an electric propagator then after germination in moved them onto the windowsill in the conservatory and kept them well watered at about 1 1/2" tall they looked really healthy then they started to die at first the leaves started to curl almost like they were wilting so i kept watering and now the leaves have turned brown and the plants are dying and I have no idea what is causing this so I am hoping someone out there can help before I need to sow more seed?

possible although my moisture meter showed moist at the top of the cell and wett at the very bottom and they are 7" deep so i would expect the bottom to be wetter

I think that means they are too wet.
Are they still covered- is there lack of ventilation? Are they going yellow? Has the cold air from the window been too chilly following the warmth of the propagator??
Sorry to ask so many questions, but my gut feeling is still tat they are over watered!

no yellow just brown so I think perhaps your right too much water so now the question is how to save them or shall i chuck the lot in the compost and start again?

Chuck them and start again. The roots have rotted I would think. Seeds and seedlings need to be kept moist, not wet. Also, at this time of year brassicas shouldn't need a heated propagator to germinate. You can even sow them in rows in the open ground, and transplant from there
