    Hi rustylady,

I guess that my question to the forum was whether there was an inter-cropping expert that I could link in with, not to go through all the inter-cropping questions that I have!

    Take care,

    Lisa-Marie x

Like Taff said, go for it. We are a friendly lot and don't mind how many questions you ask.

Now all is explained then yes the people on this site will do all they can to help.

If I may offer you some advice use the public forum you will then get varied opinions which you will be able to sift to get the answer to your questions. It will also mean that others less bold will be able to read the threads and glean info to.

And remember if you ask two gardeners the same question you will get three different answers it is the way of things.

The only intercropping i can help with is what to do with all those rogue potatoes that pop up in my neat rows of other veg also the wind or bird delivered tomato seeds that seem to want to grow in the weirdest of places (under my dwarf pear tree......), or when you go away for a few days and the trailing squash have crossed the path and started climbing up the runner bean poles..... but seriously - do you mean things like planting nasturtiums in with veg to attract the blackfly away or disguising the delicious aroma (to a carrot fly) by planting surrounded by onions?

Instead of asking questions about asking questions; just ask the questions!

If you ask the question to one person you will get one opinion back, ask it on a foroum and you get loads of opinions and advice. You can then decide which to use

I am new to forums, so am not sure if this replying to a quote will work, but this is to zazen999 - I did ask the question!!!! My question was whether there was an inter-cropping expert that I could link in with!!

I anticipate that this will be a project that will last for a long time - perhaps a year or two. My hope is to find someone who is excited about inter-cropping, who is happy to link up and discuss the idea, and then see where that leads. Ideally someone amazing will come along, who thinks that the idea is a good one, and is happy to work with me on it for the foreseeable future.

There really is no point in me asking which vegetables to plant between my sweetcorn as that is not what I need at the moment.

                  This seemed so simple .....

OK Lisa-Marie, so what do you need at the moment. Ask your question. Quick answer to your original question is probably no there is not one intercropping expert either here or anywhere else. Unless we know what your idea is then no-one will be either able or willing to help.

Perhaps if you tell us what your project is we will start to get somewhere.

                        Hi

It is simple Lisa, but people like Zaz (and the other posters) share their vast knowledge and expertise with us 'plodders' and are only to willing to help. However, if you take a step back and re - read your posts, they appear like a fishing exercise and as has been mentioned earlier, professional bodies/ students etc have used the forum as a free resource to pillage. All anybody is after is a straight answer and a proper acknowledgement to the board or permission if that is the case! So if you are genuine poster, post your questions, hopefully becoming awash with advice and PM somebody you feel helped you the most?

I have one comment on this thread, I think people on here take themselves to seriously sometimes.
                            Cheers

                              Hi Dave,

My question is whether there is an inter-cropping expert out there who wants to link in with me to discuss an idea I have. It's right at the beginning stages; just a little idea, but one that I am excited about. I'm sorry but I don't understand the 'fishing' comment. I'm not asking to steal information as I haven't asked any questions - only whether there is someone out there who I can contact who knows about inter-cropping!

If this is not the right place to find someone, perhaps I can ask another question - where would I go to find an inter-cropping specialist?

I, too, am not being awkward - but have so far been accused of all manner of things when all I asked was whether there was an expert who fancied chatting about an idea that I have.
