Kings do if your group is a member of the lottie society.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'm still looking at them (I know I'm sad) and - is it just me, or have the spud seeds got expensive this year and that's before the p&p!
Spose I'll have to stick with the boring ones from Wilko next year

I would definitely try Alan Romans Alan Romans - Vegetables
They have decent packs for 60p and have fairly decent quantities.
You mentioned purple carrots, for Purple haze f1 a pack of 200 seeds is 60p on Alan Romans Alan Romans - Carrot 'Purple Haze' F1 and a pack of the same variety is 2.69 on Thompson Morgan but you get 300 seeds rather than 200 Carrot 'Purple Haze' F1 Hybrid - Carrot & Parsnip Seeds - Thompson & Morgan
Plus I think you'll find shipping is a lot cheaper on Alan Romans 99p versus 1.99 on Thompson and Morgan. I guess the downside is they probably don't have such an extensive selection but its pretty good for most things and thats where i would get your staple crops from and then any unusual ones from somewhere else.
I've used Alan Romans for a few years and have always been good and they have to conform to the same regulations as everybody else and I suspect they are sourced from the same wholesaler. You don't get any fancy packets though but I find the small paper packs easier to store.

Thanks David - I'll have a look at that site I've not ordered anything yet, but I know I will spend at least £10 pound at Thompson and Morgan's before December

I like cheaper seeds as I get more grown out of my money. Dobies is good too, I think

As someone else suggested, I'd wander into your nearest garden centre. Around now is theirr 50p packet time. Which is why I'm not going in, as I always end up with a pile of packets that I already have back at home!!!

Kings seeds offer discounted rates to the allotment society people.

I have just ordered 33 packets of seed, some bog standard and some new and different varieties, will be all I need for next year (well in theory, but cant help the odd accidental purchase!) all for £21

I'm wading through this lot and drawing up various wish lists etc, however the one thing I can't seem to find in them is a larger garden to put all the seeds in!

Just to tempt you a bit more I bought my Purple Haze carrots a couple of years ago from premier_seeds_direct (sow by 2011 or I'd offer you some) 99p for 600 seeds with 59p P&P (charge is the same regardless of how many packs ordered from them)

I bought everything from the Real Seed Company(?) for next year as really wanted to try more older varieties. Would recommend anyone to have a good look at their online catalogue. I'm really excited by some of next years crops already and it's not even christmas

I also love Franchi Seeds (Seeds of Italy) - interesting varieties, and usually you get a lot of seeds for the money - much better than most UK suppliers!

It's just a shame they have an £8 minimum order policy, as I only wanted a couple of packets

Yikes the willpower you must have - I fall on them as soon as they hit the doormat.

Having said that I'm in the heritage seed society thingy so I get some packets for free off them.
