      just put a frame round the bucket, wedged into the top, or a few sticks shoved into the bucket, to the bottom, then wind a bit of string round it.

        zaz, I'd imagine watering would need to be a bit more on the money if growing unchecked in a bucket?

              Okay - Newbie here confused.
              To nip out or not?
              General consensus is? (not that I have anything to nip out yetr )

                depends how you want to grow them....if they're indeterminate (aka cordon) toms then the standard is to grow up canes/string and nip out sideshoots.

                If you don't nip them out they get very straggly and the fruits may be smaller, but they'll probably be shorter - if you want to grow them under plastic cloches/covers.

                  The point of this thread...is that you don't have to nip them out...
