Hi, i'm very new to growing veggies so this year i just attempted runner beans, i've had lots off them and now have been left with lots of huge beans with massive seeds inside, can anyone help as what i can do with them next? Can i dry them and use them next year to grow from and if so how? Apologies for the complete ignorance as i said im new to this and next time hopefully i can try something else as well as the runners

Hello there and welcome to the vine. Well done on your beans You can save the seeds. The best way is to leave them on the plant for as long as possible to dry out. Once they are mostly dry, take them off the plant and put them on some newspaper in a warmish place until they rattle inside the pod, then just take them out of the pod and keep them in a dry place until next year.
If you plan to use the beans for eating once they have been dried, then you need to soak them overnight and boil them for ages but I'm sure someone else will be along to tell you for how long.
If you click on the search button at the top of the page and put in drying beans, I'm sure you'll find loads more information. Click here for your starter for 10A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)
