Green for household waste, brown for garden waste and three boxes for recycling. My council is going to start charging £30 a year for the garden waste collection though, so I think my bin will go up to the allotment lol

I imagine that if they do impose this charge large quantities of green waste will suddenly appear on the Town Hall steps.

We've never had a green waste collection. Mind you, most front gardens have been completely paved over round here, for parking and "tidiness"

Plenty of space to store the wheelie bins then?

We have a blue wheely for plastic & paper, and a black wheely for everything else. I personally only put each of them out once a month at the most (we just don't buy over-packaged stuff so don't generate that much rubbish)

Bought a sage plant at the local farmers market for a quid. Plant's gone mad in my garden and can't keep up with it.

They already do....it's called council tax! Are councils now to be like bladdy restaurants and start charging for extras.

If your council start on the green bins it is because they know people who fill their bins are an easy target.

It's a disgrace. Don't let it happen. It's the thin end of the wedge.

My best buy was an extra, extra, extra long hose. Brilliant for getting into all the gardens and even right down to the end of the lane! No more popping connectors or kinks either. Heaven.
