planted my atlantic giants on the unused lottie next door ,didn't even prep the soil, just bunged 2 plants in but they did get comfrey tea when I watered the tomatoes.
One plant was ravaged by slugs early on and died, the other split into 2 leaders which grew 30 ft long in opposite directions.I had 2 fruits set one of which was stolen at about18 ins diameter the other grew to 44 kilos, all the other squashes were poor this year despite careful ground prep, manure, hills and feeding plus I don't know what i'm gonna do with 44 kilos of pumpkin as i'm the only one in the family that eats it.

So you're looking for a thief with a ricked back

Well done on that one, I think ~ 44 kg is Kylie size !

ok for pumpkins this year as well

Here in the Severn valley all the pump and squashes did really well.

I don't know what's the secrets to success but I grow a selection every year (only for eating) and every year it's good. This year I mostly grew Connecticut Field, Jem Squash Rollet, spaghetti plant and Little Sugar.

        My ingredients are:

        1. I don't use animal manure on the squash/pump parch, only the recycled garden waste composty stuff from the council (we donate them a bit every year and get free supply).

        2. I spread some blood and bone two weeks before planting.

        3. I grow them in modules to about 4-5 leaves.

        4. I transplant them in late June early July.

        5. I do water if there is at list 6 consecutive days with no rain.
