I planted a Japanese wineberry at the end of my raspberry wired fence. I had some off last year and more this year but they apparently take 3-4 years to get established properly. Although am sure Miss Z's green fingers will have it fruiting in no time at all.
Set your sights on a cloudberry next people. Delicious taste from Scandinavia and if the weather carries on getting colder, they should do very well

Cloudberry - very hard to grow in the country, they need boggy acidic peat and lots of cold!!

I am looking for a wineberry, but they are rather expensive - so will have to wait.

I want a cloudberry and can't find one - we have a copse with pines up here so pockets of garden are quite acidic. Still want one...

ooh cloudberries... I remember a particularly *red* cloudberry liqueur called Arctic Frost that I picked up in Iceland... it was lovely, but I am surprised I remember that actually.... (something like 40% ABV)

Yep me too - picked up in Finland. Also Gloggi and a dessert made with cloudberries in a milky pudding...mmmm
They get very pickled up in the Arctic Circle, don't they? Very good holiday to find Santa...lots of very relaxed parents
