          • Best plants so far are Texas Wild and Principe Borgese. The others are fine just not so far ahead (and not leggy)

That's the trouble with artificial lighting, the colour just does not come out right.

              • Are you using growlights?
The problem with rounded personalities is they don't tesselate.

That will be a yes .

I sowed 5 Red Alerts on Xmas eve in a heated propagator. 2 germinated within days and became very leggy under an all blue 14w LED grow light. Probably too much heat for the amont of light, as 2 more germinated and did ok with the heat turned off.

Splashed out for my birthday on a new grow light as will need some red light for flowering.

I now have the lights in a 4 tier blow-away. Along with the Red Alerts I have 4 Tamina and 5 Harbinger. Plus a few other plants.

                  • I am growing Garden pearl, which seem a bit leggy at the moment, they are about 1inch or so tall, is that normal for them to be leggy?

Also i have sown sweet & neat Yellow and Sweet and neat red, which are coming along nicely and have there second set of leaves.

Its not unusual for toms to be a little leggy at this time of year. Make sure you give them as much light as possible and when you pot on plant them deep, very deep. The stem will throw our more roots and it will make for a much stronger plant.

                      • My Gartenperle are about 5/6 ins tall (from a jan sowing) They're dark green and quite short jointed, so I don't think that counts as leggy.......I'm hoping they'll just be early

I'll just keep a couple as part of the early toms experiment and bin the rest, I won't waste any more space or compost on them................I've plenty of others to sow
