    I grew summer ball this year - I can't comment on taste as the kids used them for carving! They took up the same amount of space as a courgette and each one produced two almost football sized fruit

      I grew patty pan last year but it didn't sprawl. Had a good crop too. I think the seeds were free with this magazine.

        I think next year I am going to go for some squash as my folks garden has a south facing fence, I may chuck 5-6 Golden Nuggets into there on the strength of this thread and see what happens maybe some Japanese squash along the back fence.

          Lovage, how much space did you give them? am impressed with your yield. haven't tried bush yet but sounds like i should give golden nugget a whirl, if they're productive in containers...
