My personal choice would be Rocket, a relativly new one, but has that lovely new potato flavour, crops well, is Very early.
Downside? Tends to get a bit on the large side, does not keep in the ground well, needs to be used young(as any new potato should)

More varieties added and I've voted for mine

I've stickied so that this becomes a running poll that we can revisit each year.

Grew these the year before last,I washed all the large ones & put into a doubled hessian sack, placed under in the dark ventilated space under my building, they kept perfect well into Autumn

Going to try Swift this year

I grow Swift for my earliest followed by Lady Christl but if I could only grow one it would be Lady C. Its more versatile it can be havested as a pure first early but you can also leave it in the ground to grow on. Makes lovely chips and bakers to.
