Lunar Planting - what have you grown today?

  • Today I sowed celeriac Balder, three varieties of leek and onion Jaune Paille de Vertus - all synodic. I also had a biodynamic flower day and sowed some sweet pea Cupani.

      FULL*MOON

      Synodic:
      Now is a good time to sow root vegetables, berries, bulbs, onions, biennials, and perennials.

      Biodynamic:
      Moon in Cancer: This is a Water sign. It is a good time to sow Leaf plants like Cabbages, Celery, Lettuce

      Sidereal:
      Moon in Cancer: This is a good time for germination

      • I've sowed sweet peas and hellebores .....meant to sow some hibiscus but just remembered they are still sitting in a pot of water. Instructions said soak seeds till they either float or sink (can't remember which way round) there's some of each .....anyway I forgot they were in there ....

        • If I start my celeriac now, any ideas when they will be ready for harvest, I want them as late as poss. Will there be another good day for planting them or is that it??

          • There will be plenty of other opportunities for celeriac. Readiness of crop will be dependant on weather, soil fertility and watering so impossible for me to second guess. I have sown mine, believing that I will be ready to transplant late April/May again depends on weather.

                • Today have sown a sprinkle of greyhound, kalibos and fildekraut cabbages .....just a few of each ...cos in 9-10 days I can sow some more

                              Now is a good time to sow root vegetables, berries, bulbs, onions, biennials, and perennials.

                              Biodynamic:
                              Moon in Leo: This is a Fire sign and a good time to sow Fruiting plants like Broad Beans (Fava), Peas (early), Tomatoes, Peppers, etc
                              Sidereal:
                              Moon in Leo: Dry and barren. Good time for garden maintenance.
