        • Hi All

The next couple of days are as follows:
          Date: 12 January 2012
          Waning Moon in Leo
          Synodic:
Now is a good time to sow root vegetables, berries, bulbs, onions, biennials, and perennials.

          Biodynamic:
Moon in Leo: This is a Fire sign. This is a good time to sow Fruiting plants like Broad Beans (Fava), Peas, but it would not be a good time to sow Leaf plants like Cabbages, Celeriac, Lettuce,

          Sidereal:
Moon in Leo: Dry and barren. Good time for garden maintenance.

          Synodic:
This is not a good time to be sowing anything in the garden. Instead use this time to weed and harvest from the garden. It is an excellent time to start building a new compost heap.

          • I've just read the whole of the thread from last year and the whole of this thread...and now feel both inspired and bewildered! I am just going to follow Biodynamic this year even though I dont understand it, and try and read some of the websites listed throughout the threads...so much to understand...and thats with trying to read my gardening books from Christmas as well....My head hurts.

I worked using biodynamic last year and found it so easy. Synodic for me this year is taking more planning.

                  • I daren't as I am already sitting on two trays. One bio, one synodic. Coincidentally the synodic sown were through quicker and with better germination rate than bio, thus far.

                      • If you are following synodic then it's now. If biodynamic, you want 16th and yes leeks are root crop.

                              • I was just browsing the Garden Organic website looking for info about their potato day and just happened to notice they are running a one-day workshop on Biodynamics in April. Its quite expensive but thought I would let you know in case anyone was interested in it. Grow Your Garden With Biodynamics (Part 1 Introduction) - Details of forthcoming course from Garden Organic
