        • You're all very welcome! Sometimes it pays to be disciplined. I have now got to sit on my hands for a week, being synodic and all...grrr, so I will be tidying like a demented thing. But for those of you that can sow/plant, here is your week ahead:-

          Today's Moon Information
          Date: 14 January 2012
          Fruit Leo

          Synodic:
This is not a good time to be sowing anything in the garden. Instead use this time to weed and harvest from the garden. It is an excellent time to start building a new compost heap.

          Biodynamic:
Moon in Leo: This is a Fire sign. This is a good time to sow Fruiting plants like Broad Beans (Fava), Peas, Tomatoes, Peppers, etc

          Sidereal:

          • Same as Bins, Stella, and Veggiechicken, its making me get organised with sowing (and also encouraging me to do things much earlier which is exciting). Hope it works well too.

Thank you VVG for updating every day for us.

Yep. That's me. (Ask OH. lol.) On the cusp of Virgo. For the last couple of days I have been thinking about tidying up the garden. Too cold now...much rather cuddle up with my little 3 legged familiar.

                • VVG, please could you explain to me why the 17th is Libra/flower sign but the moon is in Virgo so good for root crops? Or is that a mistake?

I have sown a couple of tomatoes today in a heated propagator.

But don't you feel so much better for all that maintenance? I know I went out and did all sorts of things I would haven't have thought about doing if there had been seeds to play around with. There are now no dead leaves in the tunnel to encourage pests. I've pulled up all the rhubarb roots left after dividing (murdering) the old clumps at Christmas. I also dug the area over as it was so dry and friable which I wouldn't have done otherwise because, if asked, I'd have said it had to be too wet. I've cleared the area for new gooseberry bushes and I've researched up on various pests and diseases. What I'll do tomorrow, another story but I like this structure even if my sense of well being isn't linked to the moon.

                      • No ^^ have spent five hours logging, raking and taking down a holly tree, cleaning out chooks. Now everywhere hurts as we have worked like Trojans - had a hot bath and yet still I am pained.

We start again tomorrow with more clearing but it will look tonnes better and the view is better beyond measure. I wish I could be twenty years younger

Actually, I'd go for 30 years younger (but knowing what I know now!) just for the recovery factor (and no arthritis). Maybe if it's hurting today it won't hurt so much tomorrow.

I wish you hadn't mentioned cleaning out the hens - there's a pile of goat **** waiting to be moved from under I roof I can't stand up under . Thank goodness it's too dark to make me feel I should go out now.
