I'll grow them on in pots for a bit and get them well hardened off before they go out . We had them in the Centenary Garden last year and they did really well. I tried igloo and they failed miserably ......

Today have sown more cabbage......same types as before .

Would just like to say that this thread is totally addictive and is very dangerous . 50 tomato plants where the chuff did they come from

The problem with rounded personalities is they don't tesselate.

          • Yes, it's very tempting isn't it! I managed to restrain myself again today, since the temperature's supposed to be very low for the next week or so (I've convinced myself they'd have a hard time germinating on the kitchen floor).

(Ahem - not actually on the kitchen floor. On/in compost, in modules, in trays on the kitchen floor...)

I know exactly what you mean! It is hard to overcome the need to sow a leaf on a leaf day etc even if the chosen leaf is totally unsuitable for sowing at that time of the year!
Its that feeling that if you don't sow them today you won't be able to for at least ...oh.. another week maybe. That's a long time between finding a packet of seeds and remembering to sow them on the right day.
                Its still fun though!

Thank goodness it's not just me
I was going to sow 8 tomatoes on the last fruit day and keep the other 3 to add to the 5 zaz will be sending me, so I would have 8 next fruit day... but I just knew those 3 packets would run away and hide somewhere

                        • Lettuce sown on 23rd are through today - wahoo! I am sitting on my hands - no brassicas for me until Feb/March as I will have no room until after beans/peas. Am waiting for fruit week so I can pot on my peppers and martoes.
