I don't want anyone to hide but there's more than just us three following. We will confuse the heck out of people if we debate. I will put GC up, you follow what's easiest for you, but if you think it's wrong, just PM me and I'll check it out with the satellite software. How's that sound?

This is fascinating. albeit a bit of a brain-ache understanding it all
I read about this years ago, but never tried it. This will be my first year of growing veggies (after a few failed starts, only managed baby carrots).
Only just found out how to grow garlic... so that's what I'll be doing on the 2nd Feb while following the Biodynamic dates on the GC, then off to the garden shop to browse for seeds.
Has anyone seen/know of a real physical calendar that shows the planting days? I've seen a few digital ones online, such as the links posted in this thread, however I'd quite like a normal version, like the ones that would otherwise have pictures of fast cars or scantily clad ladies. I think it would be quite nice to be able to plan in advance.
Thanks for starting the topic VVG and providing so much information, it was 28 pages of information to get though, but I'm here now

Well I sowed my first seeds of the year
Sweet Peppers:
Chocolate
Gourmet
Jumbo F1
Chilli Peppers:
Cayenne
Long Green Buddha
Aubergine:
Tres Hative de Barbentane
All in the heated propogator on the kitchen windowsill.
I've got another couple of pepper varieties to go in, they should arrive in the post tomorrow so I should still make a fruit day.
I resisted the temptation to do the tomatoes as well, I'll wait until the next fruit day in March.

Sowed 8 more tomato seeds today, to replace the ones that have committed seppuku. Poor babies. The problem with rounded personalities is they don't tesselate.

I'm following Biodynamic, so if it isnt too much trouble VVG please could you continue to put it up? I find it easiest to follow your postings if thats alright?
Sorry I've not been on the thread lately. My caulis have gone too leggy so I am trying to hold off for a little while before sowing anything else (that and its too cold to be farting around outside with soil and pots!)

I,m back in "tune with the moon", started this week with some cabbage then some beetroot and put some red onions in modules when I took them out of bag. Waiting for next leaf day to get the leeks in. My 1st year on allotment was SO sucessful and all done under the care of that big yellow shape in the sky.Sowing by the moon gives me organisation and structure to my planning so i'll keep it up.

I'm with you all again this year - I must admit, the synodic seems (to me) to make more sense, but I really like the regularity of the biodynamic! I'll be doing biod. this year again, but might do a bit of extra sowing on the synodic weeks and see if I can compare. I've certainly got enough seeds :-)
Re the reminders, I really appreciate them - though I also check the GC website. I also seriously appreciate hearing what you are doing, as it is a great reminder for not only which day it is, but what I should be considering (had remembered shallots for tomorrow, had not thought of leeks...)
Dare I ask when you plan to sow parsnips? <grin>

I've been a naughty girl
8 packets of tomato seeds arrived today (including your Estonian Yellow Mini Cherry salilah ) and I couldn't bear the thought of waiting till 7th so I slid back into synodic mode.
Synodic has always seemed to make more sense to me too - but I have been mostly following the biodynamic. The problem with rounded personalities is they don't tesselate.
