Re the reminders, I really appreciate them - though I also check the GC website. I also seriously appreciate hearing what you are doing, as it is a great reminder for not only which day it is, but what I should be considering (had remembered shallots for tomorrow, had not thought of leeks...)

Dare I ask when you plan to sow parsnips? <grin>
Parsnips for me going direct under a scaffold board soon as a test. Main ones April.

Waiting for next leaf day to get the leeks in. My 1st year on allotment was SO sucessful and all done under the care of that big yellow shape in the sky.Sowing by the moon gives me organisation and structure to my planning so i'll keep it up.

8 packets of tomato seeds arrived today (including your Estonian Yellow Mini Cherry salilah ) and I couldn't bear the thought of waiting till 7th so I slid back into synodic mode.
Synodic has always seemed to make more sense to me too - but I have been mostly following the biodynamic.
Good to see you all back

Cool! I sowed my toms too early last year and they got very leggy in the spare bedroom under the skylight - so I'm disciplining myself to wait
Intrested to hear what you think of the Estonian Yellow - I liked the taste and they are definitely prolific, but for this year I'm avoiding the many-toms-on-one-truss as I find them a bit of a pain to pick?

        • I was going to have a rest for a few days but ......the magnetic personality of the man in the moon has persuaded me to sow four types of leeks, spring onions ( i WILL grow some big enough to use) a few modules of beetroot and as an experiment some rondo carrots in cut down loo roll middles .......I swear he hypnotised me

I'm just assuming - we probably have to eat the crops on the right day too!
I'm sure an experienced Lunar-tic will be along soon to tell me off and put me back on the straight and narrow!

Yes, if you can jump start them.
