I am growing first early 'Accent' this year and planted them about 3 weeks ago having chitted them first. Planted about 100mm deep I did my first earth up this weekend.
I grow in 1200mm (4ft) wide beds which have been covered with large polythene cloches for about a month previously to warm up the soil. The plastic is still on and will remain on until Frost risk has gone. If I grow spuds, I want them early! here's hoping.Life is like a toilet roll - the nearer you get to the end, the faster it seems to go!

My earlies have only just started peeping above the soil in the last couple of days.You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
