Seed Envelopes

I've just been searching for the most economical seed envelopes to get my hands on and came across a template on WinterSown.Org that you can download and print. You get 4 envelopes to an A4 sheet.

I was wondering if anyone has used this. It looks a bit of a faff to me and probably very time consuming.

Anybody know where the best and cheapest seed envelopes can be obtained?

I use "dinner money envelopes" from the Poundshop. Little brown envelopes, 100 for £1.

I love the little transparent zip bags used for small items of jewellery etc - our local general store/ post office sells them in batches of about 100 for £1.50 - I like to see the seeds inside

There very easy to make just a little fiddly to cut out, I like the school envelope idea and have used my sons bright yellow ones before now but I've not seen the ones in poundland but I will look for then next time I'm in town...

I'm with Jeanied, i like to see the seeds in the bag, saves me having to take them out to look at them

I do too, but the glue on them isn't great: I have to sellotape the sides up

I thought seeds were supposed to be kept in paper rather than plastic to avoid condensation and the like

I haven't noticed any problems, donnakebab - as long as the seeds are dried well. I can't see that they are any more of a condensing atmosphere than the commercial vacuum packs. And some seed retailers sell them in plastic too.

It would be good to be able to see the seeds. What's the best size? Do you just use a sticky label to id them?
