Hewitt Climbing Bean

I've a few of these from the VSP, donated by poly..

I can't seem to find much information on them online - does anyone know much about them? One site I've looked at suggests they were from the HSL, but that's about all I've found out about them.

Yup - offered in 2005

The local squire passed this bean to the father of our donor, Heritage Seed Library member Sally Hewitt. They produce robust, hardy, vigorous plants around 1-2m in height, and flowers with white standard petals and very pale green wing petals. Member Linda O'Neill says "a little slow go get going, but romped away during August". The pods are flat, short and tender and filled with flavourful beans. They can be podded, steamed and eaten green, but principally a drying bean with a sweet and nutty flavour.

I was just digging through my saved seed stash and came upon a bag of Hewitt seeds. It's a few years since I grew them so did a google which brought me here I think these were one selection I sent to Zazen, for the Pea and Bean circle 2011 and possibly spares went to the seed parcel. I missed this thread first time around, but hope they did well Chris. I'm fingers crossed my seeds will germinate next year.
