I have two water butts catching rainwater coming off my roof down a drainpipe. Pigeons have been roosting on my roof since last year - this year coming back in abundance under my solar panels. I thought that this would contaminate my water so have been draining the water away then cleaning then out with disinfectant. I didn't realize that I could use pigeon droppings for manure, the same as chicken poo. Would it be okay used in my water as it wouldn't be dried out? Cheers

I have seen blokes hanging nylon stockings filled with all sorts of dung but especially sheep muck in there water barrels as a feed for plants. Pigeon muck should be no different but may need diluted with clean water if too concentrated.

I've done a bit of a gooogle and found this site. .... it's not much use though cos the translation is appalling...and quite funny in parts!

Thanks to you both for the useful info, all that fertilizer wasted last year! Yes the link is quite funny but good knowledge Nicos.

Just be very careful handling it. Fresh bird excrement contains harmful bacteria which can easily cause infections if it gets into a cut on your hand or something.
