Free GYO potato kit for primary schools

Just saw this and wondered whether it was of interest for those of you who work with primary schools Grow Your Own Potatoes | Potato Council

We do that every year, even though potatoes are on the "banned" list of things we can grow at school

Why are potatoes banned?

We used a couple from the kit along with 1 of each of the varieties I bought and the children predicted and investigated which would give the largest quantity of spuds.

We then used the spuds to make veg pakora for our summer fair and made loadsa money!.....well enought to buy more for this year :-)

because their fruits are poisonous (and look like tomatoes, so could well be accidentally ingested)

I've never managed to grow any with fruit!!

An important part of growing any kind of food and a good life lesson in general is not to eat anything if you don't know what it is.

Good tip to bear in mind though....
