  • Help with a split crown?

    I purchased a split rhubarb crown my local potato show last week, i might seem a bit stupid asking this question but which way should i plant it? it has the flat side where it was split so im quessing it should be planted on its edge with the bud pointing upwards?? could anyone give me any advice???

      I couldnt really see what id expect for roots, it but there is a clear bud so by the powers of deduction..... i wasnt really sure what i was buying to be honest, it was my first potato show and i got a bit giddy , i just wanted to buy one and have a go!

            Don't bury the bud - plant level with the base of it. Oh, and some 'oss muck in the 'ole would serve well.
