Trying Anything New This Year?

Having really enjoyed a Cantaloup Melon from the supermarket, have saved some seeds and am going to have a stab at growing my own. Never tried growing Melons before, but am planning on treating them in a similar fashion to my Cucumbers which went ballistic last year.
Anyone else having a "First Time" this season?

I've seen references to 'oca', at first I thought it was okra and had been misspelt in the communications. But it's oca so I'm thinking of giving that a bash. Cheers, Tony.

im trying kelsea exhibition onions and hestia (dwarf runner beans), ive never grown neither of them, but looking forward to seeing how they grow, especially the dwarf runners

And I had the pleasure of being taught how to make my own pea and bean netting; so that's going to be new for me - as well as the usual new stuff....I currently have a cinnamon vine in my bathroom [used for the tubers] which is growing significantly every time I look at it.

I'm doing lots of squashes and pumpkins this year, such as turks turban for its cool looks, scalloped edged ones, big orange ones for Halloween, and pushing a few seeds into the ground that I got out of my pumpkins from last year.
I'm most excited about the elephant garlic though I think - never tried them before. Can't wait to see how they turn out Oh, and the gherkins! Not had home grown/pickled gherkins for many, many years.
That reminds me - my grandma used to grow pumpkin and pickle it. I will have to do a search on that here to see if anyone's done it. No idea what type it was she grew, and I'm not even sure I liked it, but it'll be a memory to bring back
