errr yes, 50cm between each spinach row. so there will be a gap between the spinach rows for sowing/planting A,B or C crops into.

Then next year everthing moves up 25cm and the rows get planted where the spinach was this year.

Nope.

2m between each A or B.
1m between each C

Start with your spinach. It's the foundations. Then work the A B and C from there.

I agree Zaz. VVG, just sow your spinach/mustard and the spacing will become much more obvious Stop questioning............

I sort of do the companion planting thing, once i plant out my sprouts and purple sprouting broccoli i sow radishes or letture under neath so its ground cover sometimes i use nasturtiums. Its good that it seems to keep the annual weeds down and prevents moisture evapouration

My mustard is up and I am pleased When the wind has died down, I will be adding in my broadies and brassicas.

Has anybody tried potatoes and broad bean combination and if so, do you alternate them or plant one type at one end and several at the other?

No answer to the above, so I shall assume it's a no no or we don't know the answer. This woman is so damned confusing with her A B C lists that differ from her harmonious combination lists...bonkers!
I have planted lettuce and beetroot together as per her HCL but not as per her ABC. Broadies and brassicas have gone in too, but I can see I will have brassica on brassica, in rotation next year. TBH I am not buying this hooey and am yet to be convinced it's a good thing. Permaculture yes, but this is either badly written, or it will be an unmitigated disaster.

Sorry VVG didn't see that. Will have to check the book which is downstairs and I am upstairs. If they are both 'B's then it's fine, and you can alternate or halve the bed, whatever suits you.

I think you are getting too hung up on the A B and Cs...

I'd put Lettuce and Beetroot on a C row as both are fast growing. But you could also put beetroot in a B row as the later ones slow down and you can harvest right into late autumn/winter.

I think of them as As are long season plants, Bs are medium and Cs are fast growing succession growing plants.

I've done it and at least it looks nice. Do you ignore the ABCs and follow the companion listings?
