  • Storing Seed Potatoes

I have bought my first and second earlies and main crop seed pots. I am chitting the first earlies on the garage window sill and am going to risk planting them in bags in the greenhouse in a few weeks.

Where should I store my second earlies and main crops until I stick them in the ground on Good Friday?

In egg boxes, somewhere cool and light. I have mine in module trays in the greenhouse.

Mine were in egg boxes last year on a beautiful chrome rack in the bedroom (we don't have any heating on in there). My granddaughters thought it was hilarious.

somewhere frost free and in full light. If you haven't anywhere suitable, Bury them in the garden . The ground isn't yet warm enough for the spuds to start growing and the soil will insulate against frost
