        Pseudo root trainer Mark II

4 Yogurt pots, each divided into 4 segments with more bits of plastic packaging junk, planted with french and runner beans, peas and sweetcorn. 4 flowerpots planted up with identical seeds as a comparison.

        Root trainer Mark I unwrapped!
The roots grew downwards until they hit the air, then shrivelled. Due to a small design flaw part of the base stopped some roots emerging, these started to circle. Under normal circumstances, I would have planted this bean out by now.

Who is selling them singly, please VVG?

I found spacers here, which seem a really good idea.

AND having read back a bit:- really easy to put together.
not hard to fill. I chuck the compost in the middle and just keep moving it out and banging the rack until it's all full. Anything that goes over the edge ends up in the tray. Deffinitley easier and less messy than loo rolls!! (But I do like loo rolls for baby carrots in the tunnel - no sapce wasted by no shows.)
