Don't forget there are two totally unrelated types of samphire ie rock and marsh that don't taste the same.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Plain water. Didn't have a single seedling from either sowing. Not sure that salty water would be needed to get the seeds to germinate but who knows?

Ey up SMC999,I been doing some thinking & searching & found ...........

Best watered with a saline solution (1 teaspoon of proper sea salt in a pint of water).
Taken from where you can buy plants & save all the germination related problems .......... Samphire Plant (Salicornia europaea) ....... HTH

Morning All! Im new to this site so i hope im writing in the right place!
im currently trying to grow samphire, i have 3 plants, ones pretty much dead, ones got 1 single green strand so is hanging on for dear life and the other seems to be doing pretty well... as in its alive. It just doesnt seem to be getting any bigger, does anyone know if I should re-pot it to give it a bit of room, its currently in a tray id say about 10 cms deep and on the kitchen window cill. Is this normal or should it be flourishing? I keep looking at it thinking im never going to be able to have a meal out of it :-)
Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions x

Just wondering if it would be best to grow it in a sunken bucket to create an artificial salt marsh?
