Rotation isn't The Law, it's just a theory

The objective is not to grow the same plant in the same place all the time. Mixing them up, or moving them round, helps with that

How close is close, Alison ?
My Broadies tend to grow about 4' high, plus they also send up secondary stems. I've left at least 6" between each plant to allow airflow around them when fully grown. Is this close ?
Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.

Does that mean I can plant broadies between my rows of spuds?
Sometimes you just have to scratch that itch and get dirt under your finger nails.

Why not? But you have to be able to pick your beans without disturbing your potatoes and vice versa. I mix and match wherever I can find a space. Its rarely the same space next year so that's my rotation scheme!

I got with about 6" too or maybe very slightly closer if I have a lot to squeeze in . There is no way I'd have room to put anything in between there and be able to get at it between the beans.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
