chilli sowing ??

hi there, had all my chilli seeds sown last year by the end of january, but not so this year, just wondering if im to late with my chilli seeds ?, they are joes long ,jahapeno and scotch bonnet, thanks shamie !!

I sowed them a few weeks back but nothing doing yet despite residing in the airing cupboard. Have just bought a cheap heated propagator from b&Q to kick thir spicy little butts into gear

thanks for all the replies, i sowed them yesterday. i have sown 8 orange wonder, 4 joes long, 5 scotch bonnet, and 8 cayenne, all into a heated propagator, fingers crossed that alot of them germinate as i have a new polytunnel to fill this year !!!!

Mine just came up on the windowsill over the past few days! Last year I was a month later and still had a great crop come september

No germination from mine yet (Just in a little greenhouse on my windowsill). Should be a nice weekend apparently - that may give them a kick.

I am going to sow mine on tuesday - have scotch bonnet, cheyenne, birds eye and bhut jolokia to sow. I have no bloody space for them though My new house is a bit short on light coming through the windowsills but I'll keep turning them until they can go outside

I still have an awful lot to learn but seem to be having some luck, my chillies were sown about four weeks ago and are producing their second set of true leaves.

In my experience Chilli needs a long growing season in our climate

I start my chilli off in January in a propagator using 3 seeds per Jiffy plug, removing the weaker seedlings before transferring them under a Growlight. Once roots have emerged from the side of the plug I pot them up and transfer them to a cold greenhouse, beginning of March this year. The pots are set about two inches above an uncovered heating cable which provides an inexpensive micro climate, only covering the seedlings at night in fleece if a frost is forecast. I'll finally plant them out on my allotment early June under a pvc tunnel and keep my fingers crossed. This is how they are looking today.

Variety is Thai Bird Chilli seed brought back from last years holiday cost about 25p a packet...joy.

i sowed some in february - variety hot stuff - ive took some pics too (there in my album) - as soon as mine germinated they went into the greenhouse, so unfortunately they arent as established as yours chilli king
