The temp went down to 3.6c in my greenhouse last night, glad my toms are still on the bathroom window sill.

-0.4c inside my greenhouse last night. Car has had all windows iced up for the last two mornings. 3pm today though it was 29c in the greenhouse, mental. Tomorrow is even hotter too. Loving it mind, really giving me the urge to get out and sort the beds out ready for sowing and planting

This is exactly what happened when I first moved to the South East. I thought the weather was absolutely perfect. Then the Autumn of 2000 happened and I renamed it Soggy Surrey!!

I haven't sown anything outdoors that didn't say it could be on the packet. There are some gambles in the greenhouse, but they're transferable to the conservatory (always warm - in-laws next door have fire going 24/7 and their living room borders our conservatory). Potatoes are in, but there are no leaves showing, yet, so they'll be ok unless it suddenly shoots to -10.

I've just been for a paddle! I know someday soon I'll get my comeuppance and I'll be wishing I lived elsewhere - but for now - its lovely!

Quite simply,I'm having a go. Yes, things are going to die, not take off as well as they should. Which is why i dont sow lots and lots of something. I dont have the space either. The key though, for me, is i will be learning the hard way! That said, I am doing my homework. Listening to you guys, for one as part of the whole learning by doing thing. Have already learned valuable chilli and tomato lessons. I have baby things in the Wendy house and the magic seed grower, and whilst that is the case; I'm all right!

I'm assuming you meant a trousers-up-around-the-knees paddle in the sea. If you meant the type of paddling I went to South Wales to do last year I would be very impressed!

Here's a little piccie of me at Cardiff International White Water...it was a beautiful, warm weekend.

Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

Yes - trousers up-round-the-knees type paddle!
Do I have to guess which of the paddlers is you? If so, its the solo kayaker! I've not tried it but enjoy watching them swooshing around - and falling in!! Ermm , the falling in is the best bit
