Plug Seed Greenhouse Plant Out Plant In Spacing ARRGGHH

Yeah - apologies about the density of my brain with this one.

I got myself an allotment in October last year, it was waste ground basically. I then got the one next door cus the commitee saw I was a hard warker, and this was essentially the local dump.

Over 500 bottles and countless rocks later I have cleared the lot and got my raised beds in, compost heap and shed up, ground beds marked and turned, cleared etc.

I am worried that I havent had all the seedlings etc in the greehouse (in hte process of being erected) so wondred if I am too late.

I have read up and looked into plugs and seeds.

Can you please tell me, am I too late on some seeds in the greenhouse - should I just opt for plugs.

also - can I plant later than the books/seed packs/websites advise with the seeds into the gorund and or greenhouse ?

Finally - any pointers/tips or website and books you can advice for a total novice but major enthusiatically raring to go new owner - much appreciated.

You sound stressed, Leon. Relax!! Lots of Grapes here haven't sown their summer-type seeds yet.
You can start some indoors before they need a greenhouse anyway.
A lot depends on what you would like to grow. Personally, I've sown very little direct into the ground yet. Its still a bit cold, even though we've had a warm spell during the day.
You've worked very hard to clear all that rubbish - soon be time to make it all worthwhile!

Ha Ha - yeah sorry i did didnt I - am not - its the most stress free I have ever been with a spade/fork/hoe in hand the last 6 months.

I have lots of seeds and wanna grow EVERYTHING !

Apart from chillis and peppers which are getting on for a little late, yuo can still sow loads of stuff.

Check the What I did today thread each day for reminders.

spinach/leafy stuff
potatoes
pretty much everything really.....so deep breath and away you go

Look at the packets - if it says March to May - you have plenty of time

I started with a veg true at Xmas, 3 months later, my GF has given me the garden to plant until my hearts content!

I've got loads of seed, but think I'm going to have most success from the 180 plug plants I've ordered this year - next year I will be doing more and more seed.

Welcome Leon......the greenhouse will be great........how about melons in there! There are some things you cannot grow! But they are cultivated widely already inside under light......

Where is your lottie? Have you seen dr George Cooks in eggie? Amazing......he showed me around it last year....

Newton - My allotment is Hatton Hill in Litherland - I am defo gonna give the melons a go.

GClarke - can I ask where you got the plugs from - I am gonna have a go at soem I think to give me a headstart.

Piskieinboots - yeah I have looked but lots say March sow indoors and am not set up for that just yet.

Twosheds - thats a relief !

Potstubsdustbins - I am all over it - my output in work has gone through the floor since I discovered htis place !!

Taff - thats a relief - am on for growing everything.

Zazen - can I buy plugs chilli and peppers - I really do wanna grow them !
