It may be worth finding out if there are any allotment associations near to you. There's one near me that has an allotment shop that is open only at weekends. It costs a pound to join and they sell cheaper fertilisers and composts and seeds etc. For instance, a friend of mine bought a 50kg bag of chicken manure pellets for £8 the other day.

Ignore that. I went to the allotment store this morning and found that the prices my mate quoted me were wrong. In fact, they were more expensive than the likes of B&Q. I won't be going there anymore lol.
