Biological control on the kitchen windowsill!

I've been battling the greenfly on my sweet potato plants almost daily, squashing and washing, but I've not been able to clear them. If I miss a day, they come back with a vengence. I don't want to move them to the greenhouse in this state as all my other plants will get affected, and it's still 2-3 weeks too early to plant them out I think.
I'm trying biological control now . I captured 6 ladybirds from the allotment yesterday, and they are now living on my kitchen window sill, munching their way through the greenfly. Last year I did this with some chilli plants, but it was a bit later, so I used lavae then, and even had them hatching out. The ladybirds eventually flew away out of the open window after clearing the aphids

I'd have never thought of doing, that I've got a couple of over wintering chilli plants that are covered in the things.

I do that: capture ladybirds and release them in the greenhouse to eat the early greenfly. Of course, they fly off ! Something which the larvae can't do, but it's too early yet for larvae. One of my potatoes is totally infested with greenfly, but I'm really trying to resist squishing them, in the hope that the 50-odd ladybirds have laid some eggs in there

Ladybirds overwinter in my living room, so I move those onto seedlings that get greenfly if they don't find them themselves.
